Playhood: The future of childcare for remote workers

Walking into Playhood was, for me, akin to walking into some kind of futuristic childcare utopia for working parents. I often joke that the project’s founder Karen Partridge is me but with funding as Playhood is exactly what I would have created as a new mum juggling childcare and work. Her beautiful home in North London is used as the setting for this groundbreaking project that sees parents and young children working within metres of each other supported by a team of kind, caring and committed staff. I won’t focus too much on the adult co-working space but suffice to say it has everything a remote worker could need from beautiful hot-desks to delicious coffee and even regular hot lunch deliveries - to be shared with the children of course. The montessori nursery is conducted between a large garden studio and even larger outdoor space with children free to move between the spaces as they please. The children have their own garden in which they are helped to plant and grow food - often added to the lunches they eat on site. It is hard not to sound like an advert here but as a freelancer who spends more hours at a computer that I would wish the idea that my young son could be happily engaged in a safe, supported community just yards away whilst I work my way through emails and bookings is little short of ideal! https://www.playhood.club/
