My top ten activities for family photoshoots

BFFs

No matter how young or old you are, the people you hang out with have a profound effect on who you are. NCT groups, nursery buddies or that one kid they got sat next to in class that became their ride or die - team up, split the cost and grab some memories of now.

Home Life

Breakfast time hangouts - all the family prepping for the day; think messy hair, PJs, feeding the dog under the table, 'here comes the aeroplane' and more.

Bedtime Routines - bath-time, reading books in bed, kisses goodnight all that good stuff that we take for granted.

Go on a bear hunt

You’re not scared!

Messy Play

Chuck some stuff in the garden and be glad the bath (or maybe hose!) is only a short walk away ;)

Sports/Hobbies

'Hey, remember when s/he was REALLY into xxx. Wouldn’t it be great if we had some photos from that time?' Let’s do it! Like all humans, kids shine when doing something they love so be it art, bmx, climbing or any other passion. Grab some shots for them to feel pride in themselves now and in future.

Just add water

Summer shoot? Water fight! (obvs) paddling pool, splash pad, garden hose the possibilities are endless!

Not so hot out? Get your wellies on and let’s go puddle jumping!

Autumn - the season of loose parts

By far my most popular time of year, Autumn gives us all sorts of amazing play opportunities and truly, you can just stick your kids in a park and create some gorgeous memories!

Furry family

I don’t care what anyone says - pets are family too and your kids will remember them right up to adulthood when they may decide to get their own. Grab some professional shots of them as the grow together with their furry friends and I guarantee they will become a treasured posession as time moves on.

Garden campout

Roast marshmallows, have a sleeping bag race, snuggle up with torches. Get the whole family involved and watch your kids’ faces light up with excitement.

Favourite (play)park

SO many memories are made in our local outdoor spaces. Skills are refined, risks are taken, and memories fade. As the parent of an 8 year old I now often hear “but this was much bigger!?’ when we stumble across old stomping grounds. Catch them while you can and you’ll have some life long memories to hold.
